Star Scoring: Our new system to judge!

This is just a heads up to inform all of you wonderful artistic members, that as of NOW we are switching to our new and improved artworks scoring system.

Previously our judges rated your artworks on a score out of 50 basis, but this was turned out to be a very time consuming method, and with news of Lara's next adventure increasing, our team members face greater and greater pressure not to let anyone down.

We are happy to announce the introduction of the new 'Star System'

The Star System:
Each judge will be allocated 5 stars to award, each having a different meaning:
  • Golden Star (2 points): The artwork which is most related to the contest and is most breathtaking from every point of view.
  • Quality Star (1 point): Based on the precision, the finishing and difficulty.
  • Creativity Star (1 point): Our star for the most creative entry in this contest.
  • Merit Star (1 point): Which artist has improved the most since their latest artwork
  • Lucky Star (1 point): A random entry which deserves the judges respect for their effort, and achievement.

As you can see our golden star is worth 2 points. All judges will hand out these stars at the end of the contest and with those we create the top 5 selected entries. These will then end up in a poll, and we give the members on the board 2 further weeks to vote. This will decide the final winner!

These are the stars that will be featured on your artwork. The initials in the silver stars stand for the different awards you can earn, as described above.

Judges will still be on hand to comment and advise throughout, as has previously been the case.

So guys what you think about this new way of judging, deciding the winner? Fair enough that everyone decides together who wins in the end? Makes it a bit more fun I think?

Yes I agree. :) But there is someething that I don't understand. From what I've read every one of the top 5 entries will have one star. So if you want to enter in the top five you must have one of the 5 stars (Golden, Quality, Creativity, Merit or Lucky). In that case my question is what are the points that goes with each star for?

Each judge hands out 5 stars to the entries of their choice. Then we add up the point totals of those stars to see who makes it into the top 5 for the poll to choose the winner.

The Golden Star is more important than the other stars, and to signify this we had to add a point system.
