My first Christmas party with my new employer is next Friday - rather a posh event this year - held at Hazlewood Castle - evening wear, posh food, booooooze....the works! Rather a little worried that I might show myself up - but what the hey - I'm nearly 40 I don't give a ***! Really looking forward to it - no I wont be wearing an evening dress - found a beautiful pair of evening trousers and gorgeous corset top! ;)

So who's partying and where this season???? :gun:

LOL!!! LM you beat me to it :D I was going to post about Xmas' dos!!

That place certainly does look posh! I'm sure you will be fine though ;) and I'm glad to hear you are looking forward to it.

I do actually look forward to the Xmas dos as it is a chance for me to dress up and look nice for a change! :D And as this is will be my last Xmas do with my current company I am going all out!! I too have brought a lovely corset top to wear, its made by turn of the century designs and is based on the one Kate Beckinsale wears in Val Helsing.

As long as it's not a corset...

I'm off to my first Chrissy Do tonight ... great restaurant in the city called 'The Olive Tree'. Hear tell they have Bambi on the menu ... yuummmmm! Therefore will be wearing something very loose and 'expandable' and definitely cool. They're predicting 39 deg C here today! :drinks: :eat:
I'm here for a good time not a long time.

It's 10°C and no snow outside. It seems like an early spring, so I had a strange feeling while decorating the house. Can't even imagine what Christmas is like at 39° C.
Anyway, hope you all have a great time at the parties! :clapping:

Well it was a blast! The food was great (no Bambi unfortunately), the booze flowed and everyone was charming and witty as they should be. I sat next to hubby's boss (the head of the company) - first time I'd met him - and it was uncanny, he was so like Humphrey Bogart, even down to the lisp! Mmmm Bogie with an Australian accent - it was bizarre!

BTW it's still as hot as Hades here and we've got massive bush fires burning blanketing the city in thick smoke - quite surreal actually. Never a dull moment in the merry old land of Oz!

Sounds like you had a great time, suzieq! I bet you charmed the head honcho! ;) Mmmmmm Bogie with an Aussie accent sounds divine to me! ;)

 Hope you are safe and well away from the bush fires - but that blanket of smoke can't be helping the temperatures out there, poor things, stay safe, suzie!!

No worries LM dear, those fires are well away from where I live. We had a very refreshing cool change last night after sweltering in 42 deg C yesterday, which would be a great relief for the exhausted firefighters.

WOW, your "castle" looks absolutely amazing .... just the perfect venue for a giant TR meet n' greet! (suzieq heads off to buy yet another lottery ticket).

Yes it would be perfect - I thought the same thing when I first saw it too! My lotteries are on every week religiously these days - we will get there one day, suzie! ;)

Glad you're away from the fires, darlin'!

Every year our place has an all-staff Christmas party between 1 and 4 on a Friday afternoon where we all congregate in one of the massive lecture theatres and have a disco with free food and drink. I've been there over 13 years now and I have a little tradition of getting as drunk as I possibly can in 3 hours (which is quite drunk, trust me) and admire the cleaners who wear ridiculously revealing clothes and try to cop off with the directors. Aaahh the spirit of Christmas :D
In accordance with the prophesy.

Still waiting for that piccy Diva ;)

Well I don't no about you LM but I feel totally shit this morning!!! It was a great night though :D I was being called Trinity all night, becos I also wore my long black leather coat. Obviously after dinner the age old tradition of throwing things (decorations etc) to the next table started and I really had to laugh when one of guys on my table said to the other table ‘Don’t start a war with us, the ladies on our table wear armour!’ :lmfao:

Ooops sorry Lude ... I did take a piccy of it but it's not the same as wearing it so I'll take one soon ... it should be my works party on Tuesday night but I'm now stuck with the dilema of going to see my daughter perform on stage in her school show or hte party. She really doean't want us to go see her cause she is so nervous and says performing in fromt of strangers is easier ... I want my cake and I want to eat it though. Will probably end up going to the show but leaving as soon as she's performed and then shooting off to party ... talk about being pig in the middle :s

Ballgowns, dicky bows, jolly hockey sticks or not.............my Goth look killed 'em all, even if I do say so myself, that is the first time in a long time I have felt truely sexy out there! Felt like shit this morning? You betcha Lude, I headbanged my way through Let Me Entertain You and oh yeah Living on a Prayer (with a slight touch of air guitar thrown in for good measure), then highland flinged my way through The Proclaimers I Will Walk 10,000 Miles, jeeze I ache in places I haven't ached since I was 18!! But I didn't ache at that age, I got up the next morning and did it all again the following night....................but oh yeah! I'm 39 now not 18..........this will take me a few months to get over!!!! Piccys soon I promise!! ;)

Nurofen helps with Headbangers Neck!! :p
